PROJECT 8: OBJECT CONNECTION (JOINTING)

This project required us to cooperate among the whole first year HBP students. I started drawing after discussing with my neighbors. We decided to have a theme of rainbow as background of our puzzles.

I used to include some of my products as the design of my puzzle. This might help me to save up more time as Project 7 and Project 8 are to summit a the same day. Then, I spent most of the time in designing my name.

PROJECT 7: ANALYSIS OF GWHS BUILDING (PRESENTATION)

This is the first project that we are required to work in group. Therefore, it was quite a challenging task. Of course, the first thing to do was knowing who are my group members. After knowing our group member, we started discussing on choosing the three buildings which have the same theme. We decided our theme: Religious and three buildings have been chosen: Church of the Assumption, Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple and Nagore Durgha Sheriff.

Nagore Durgha Sheriff
We went for our heritage site visit together although not all of our member had attended. However, our group leader held it twice so that most of our members have the chance to understand about the three chosen buildings.

During our visit at Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple, we had interviewed two foreigners: Miss Candy and Miss Jennifer. So, we got to know more about the visitors' feeling on he Hock Teik Cheng Sin Temple.

Besides taking photos while vising the sites, we also observed the surroundings so that we could collect as more information as possible.

PROJECT 5: THE MASK (SPECULATIVE)

We are asked to make a 'Feeling Mask'. It must be the interpretation of a person's face recorded in reaction when the person entering a room or space.
I would like a person to enter a living happy space so I decided to make a smiley face.
I started designing the mask...
I, personally, feel that Sichuan Opera masks do not have any smiles on them. They look fierce and unhappy. I hope, by entering a living happy space could make them smile.
This is the reason I chose to combine smiles of clown with Sichuan Opera mask.

After preparing the materials and tools needed, we started to make the mould of my face. I got helps from my friends in doing the mould.

Firstly, cling wrap is placed on my face. Then, wet toilet paper is placed to cover my face.
Paper strips are then pasted horizontally on the toilet paper on my face by using starch mixture.

When the mould is dried, the mould is removed from my face.

The making of mask:
- Place the the paper strips vertically and horizontally at each layer of the mould.
- Toilet paper is also placed on the mould.
- Dry the mould.

Draw and Color The Mask....
